Skate Away!

Ice skating is a great activity for the whole family and Muskoka is filled with beautiful ice skating trails! Arrowhead Ice Skating Trail is a fairy tale come to life and was named as one of the Top 19 Stunning Natural Ice Skating Rinks Around the World”! The Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery, a perfect place to visit not only in the summer but in the winter! The farm also features a 1.2 km skating trail around 12 acres of cranberries! After a nice skate you can warm up by the fire with a cup of homemade mulled cider and wine!

Sleigh the Day!

Muskoka offers both dog and horse sledding! North Ridge Ranch shares the magic and adventure of dog sledding with over 15 years of experience. They offer half day and one hour tours of this great experience. If you are looking for horse sleigh rides, look to Back of Beyond Equine Centre. In the winter, they offer daytime and evening sleigh rides for families and couples! The daytime sleigh ride is private for individual families and after your ride you can warm your toes and roast marshmallows over the camp fire. They also offer a great evening romantic option for couples. Sleigh through the woods lit with glowing lights and lanterns for a magical experience.

Take your Winter Adventure to New Heights!

Liv Outside offers Ice Climbing to anyone brave enough to try this winter activity! This is a great activity for beginner to intermediate climbers wanting to experience the thrill of climbing 70-100 vertical feet of chandelier ice. For more information click here.

Hit the Slopes & Trails!

Muskoka offers both downhill and cross country skiing. For cross country skiing try Muskoka Bay Resort. Nearly 20 km of trails, perfect for skiing, snowshoeing and hiking. Another great option is Gravehurst Muskoka KOA, which offers 14 kms of groomed ski trails as well as rental options. Contact them at, gravenhurstkoa@bellnet.ca.

For downhill skiing check out Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area, open mid-December to end of March for day and night skiing and snowboarding. They also offer skiing lessons, kids camp, rentals and more.
