Book a paddling tour up the Peterborough Lift Lock! This engaging tour is 90 minutes long and is suitable for all ages. During the tour, you will hear about the history of the Lift Lock and those who travelled across it. Adult tickets are $25 and youth (under 16) is $19. For more information, check out their website. 30 minutes away from the cottage is the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area. If you are looking for a sight-seeing adventure, discover the seven caves found in the park. These caves were formed thousands of years ago at the end of the last ice age. Make sure you are properly prepared to explore the caves. Wear sturdy shoes, clothing that you don’t mind dirtying and use a flashlight or headlamp. There are admission fees to enter the park; for day use permits it is $18 per car, $9 per walk-in adult and $5 per walk-in child. If you are looking to try canoeing or kayaking, there are plenty of beautiful spots around Peterborough. Your cottage is located on the scenic Chemong Lake, the largest lake in the Kawartha Chain of Lakes, covering more than 5,630 acres. This scenic lake is a great place to canoe or kayak. If you do not have your own boat, head out to Adventure Outfitters, just 15 minutes away from the cottage. You can use the boat launch at your cottage or visit Beavermead Park. Every summer the City of Peterborough holds a free music festival. Musicfest lasts about eight weeks and showcases renowned musicians like City & Colour, Carly Rae Jepsen and Gordon Lightfoot. This festival is incredibly popular and generates audiences up to 135,000 attendees. The concert series is held at Del Crary Park, 100 George St N, Peterborough and usually happens from the end of July to the end of August. For more information, check out their website.

Situated 5 minutes from the cottage is the Quarry Golf Club, one of Kawartha’s premier courses. The Quarry is a scenic par 72 championship design that can be enjoyed by all skill levels. They also offer golf simulators when the golf course is closed. For more information on their rates, check out their website.
