See a Movie!

During the summertime, the Lindsay Twin Drive In offers guests an opportunity to watch a variety of movies. This is the perfect place for family movie night including your furry family members! Pick Some Strawberries

The McLean Berry Farm is a family-run farm that offers the opportunity to pick strawberries, raspberries, sweet corn, green peppers, and heritage tomatoes. Learn About the Local History

Kawartha Settlers’ Village is a collection of over 20 historic homes and buildings and is only 8 minutes away from the cottage. Stroll through the village and see what life was like for the pioneers. The village is open from May 1 until September 31st and offers a wide range of arts and crafts programs for both adults and children. For more information, check out their website.

The Grove Theatre is a stunning outdoor amphitheatre offering live plays, concerts and music. The theatre has great events for all ages, like the Marvelous Magic Show, a fun hour of magic and juggling perfect for young kids. Once a working cattle barn, Globus Theatre has been turned into a contemporary 150 seat theatre with an attached restaurant. You can catch dramas, murder mysteries and comedy nights. For more information on upcoming events and to purchase tickets, check out their website

Venture out to Riverview Park & Zoo, 40 minutes away from the cottage. This zoo has over 150 animals and 40 species and offers free admission! The Miniature Train Ride, which is 2 kilometres long and takes around 10 minutes to complete, is available for all ages. The train costs $2 per person, and children under the age of two ride for free. The park also has a splash pad where you can cool down throughout your visit. The splash pad features dumping buckets, water cannons, and geysers and is open from 8:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. throughout the summer season. Visit their website for additional details.
